Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention & Control Policy
Country Fair Beauty Salon
Lansdowne, Church Road, Brean. TA8 2SF
All of us have been affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic but I hope you and your family have remained healthy throughout this long period. I have missed being able to offer you the treatments that I know you love, and I am looking forward to seeing you again as soon as possible.
My priority is to keep you as safe as possible, and prior to re-opening the salon I have implemented some changes which I would like to make you aware of. During the time the salon has been closed, I have completed the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention and Control course which is accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists Ltd, the UK trade body for our industry. I have since made changes in the way that I operate that you will notice when you next visit.
If I feel ill or have symptoms of C0VlD-19, I will self-isolate immediately and not open the salon. This may mean that I have to cancel your appointment at short notice. I appreciate that this may be inconvenient, but it is done entirely for your own safety. If your appointment is cancelled, you will be able to re-book again.
If you or any of the people you live with feel ill or display any symptoms of C0VlD-19 – please advise me as soon as possible and DO NOT COME TO THE SALON FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT. My cancellation policy has always stated that you will not be charged for any appointments which you miss due to illness or personal crisis but do let me know as soon as possible.
Visiting the Salon
For your safety and to maintain social distancing, I ask that you attend your appointment as close to the agreed time as possible. Please do not turn up early for appointments as this may mean that you come into contact with other clients who are just leaving. You are welcome to park in front of the house but remain in your car until your appointment time.
Please can I request that you do not bring other adults, children, or babies to your appointment. The less people entering the house, the easier it is to maintain hygiene. Of course, they are welcome to wait in the car for you or if it is a longer appointment, the beach entrance is close by for them to take a stroll.
I have increased the frequency of cleaning in the salon including making sure that common surfaces, toilets, chairs, and door handles etc. are wiped clean using disinfectant products between each client. For this reason, appointments will be spaced out more than usual.
All tools and equipment will be disinfected or sterilised in line with the specific manufacturers’ instructions for your safety. Wherever possible I will utilise environmentally friendly, single use items during a treatment that will be disposed of safely after use in order to protect you from cross infection. I can confirm that the laundering of salon towels and uniforms is a priority. I can assure you that all salon laundry is washed at 60 or 90 degrees C as appropriate.
Please leave excess possessions in the car. Coats will be left in my hallway and I will ask you to place your handbag, phone & any other items in a box which can then be taken into the salon.
I will have hand sanitiser available for you to use when you come into the salon but there is also anti-bacterial soap and hot water to wash your hands with if you prefer.
I will ask you to wear a type 1 facemask (tested to EN 14683:2019 standard) or clear visor when you visit the salon for your treatment. This face mask will be provided free of charge. PPE will be selected as appropriate to your treatment and respiratory health.
I will be using personal protective equipment (PPE) during your visit and during your treatment. This may include disposable gloves / facemask / visor where appropriate and will be standard for all clients. I will be using more PPE than the government guidelines require to ensure best practice. I also have towelling robes should you wish to cover your clothes. Please can I suggest that you do not wear make up to your appointment as this can contaminate your mask and increases the chances of touching your face & eyes. I will not be wearing make-up (thought I had better warn you now!)
No reading material will be available at your appointment, but you are welcome to bring your own magazine or use my wi-fi on your own device.
As you can imagine refreshments will be difficult when wearing a mask! Drinks will therefore only be available when able to socially distance. For example, during the rest period after a massage. Any crockery & teaspoons used will be cleaned at 65 degrees in the dishwasher.
The bathroom will be available for you to use if essential. Hand wash, nail brushes and individual hand cloths for drying will be provided. Please put any used items in the wicker basket for washing and sanitising.
Pedicures – please continue to bring your own open toed sandals to wear home.
I have carried out a risk assessment on all treatments and I am confident that I can continue to provide these safely with the high level of hygiene, PPE, and disposable equipment available.
During your treatment
I understand the importance of hand hygiene and I will ensure that I wash my hands in accordance with NHS recommendations before the start of your treatment. I will make your treatment as safe, comfortable, and enjoyable as possible. If you have any concerns about any treatment, please let me know and I will do what I can to answer your queries.
I continue to accept cash, cheques, and bank transfers (from your phone app or from your home PC). Should you wish to set up your phone app before your appointment, my salon account details are:
Lloyds Bank, Mrs Morag Wood, Sort code 77-40-42, Account number 26908860
All of these procedures have been implemented for your safety and mine. I will continue to take advice from the Government and the NHS regarding safe practice and will amend them as necessary. All visits are subject to the NHS ‘Test & Trace’ scheme unless you tell me you wish to opt out. Full details can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/maintaining-records-of-staff-customers-and-visitors-to-support-nhs-test-and-trace
