“Award-Winning Beauty Therapist Opens Salon in Brean”

Review by Rebecca Baker, Leisure & Entertainment Journalist, October 2014

With over 20 years’ experience Morag Wood has re-opened her tranquil salon in the heart of Brean, catering for all your beauty and aromatherapy needs. After finishing her training as a nurse Morag decided to become a beauty therapist, where she received the CIDESCO ‘Top Student’ beauty award and later gained the Tisserand Aromatherapist of the Year prize for the South West. Eventually her passion guided her to become a lecturer and co-ordinator at Weston College’s Beauty Therapy department where she taught for over 11 years.

Her treatments include Aromatherapy Massage, Eye Treatments, Facials, Waxing, Manicures, Pedicures and a variety of great value pamper packages.

One of her popular packages ‘The Revitalising Treat’ offers a range of botanical products that cleanse, tone and moisturise your skin into utter bliss. Morag’s knowledge about the specific products and different skin types is a great way to learn about what works for you.

Also included in this package is a manicure, an eyebrow shape, eyelash and brow tint.

The Thai Spa manicure & pedicure range leave your hands feeling nourished and pampered. Morag also uses a new range of nail polish called Vinylux, a gentler product than other gel systems but still long lasting and fast drying. Vinylux offers a wide range of colours, some with added sparkle, ideal for the Christmas season.

Alongside her beauty treatments, Morag specialises in aromatherapy massage with her favourite brand Tisserand, “I particularly like aromatherapy because of the benefits you’re bringing to people who may have quite complicated medical histories,” says Morag, “you work with them on their systems to ease their aches and pains whilst complementing treatment they’re getting from their GP.”

In contrast to a number of other salons in the area Morag offers an individualised service in an idyllic location by the sea. “The salon has spacious facilities with ample parking outside the front door. It’s great for anyone who is perhaps not fully mobile.”
